Digsby enjoyed a wash today! Such a good piggy. 💝

Back on the High Street

On our way to town |
Been out and about today 😷. My first shopping trip since Lockdown! New jeans & top. Thankfully the jeans fitted even though I couldn't try them on in the shop. Would like a second pair, but of course these ones aren't available online 😕. Need to go back to the shop anyways as Hubby not happy with the pair he bought! He chose the same style and size as he had last time - but these are too big.. what.is.that.about??😅
PS Yes I know the pic should be of the High Street in view of the post title, but I didn't take one - so you have this greenery instead! 😁

Why Worry?
So during the 1980's I was an avid Sunday evening Top 40 listener. Tucked safely away in the loft, I have a decade's worth of audio tapes with my prized recordings from 1981 to 1991. Anyone who dared interrupt my perfectly timed pause-release for the next new entry was brave indeed!
I think I passed on some of my love for the era, as Dan has a lot of time for the 1980 genre - along with Stormzy 😃
I created a catalogue from the song listings..
And 29 years later I have made a massive playlist on Spotify!
Anyhoo, through searching for my beloved 80's songs.. I have inadvertently found my new favourite group! They had a similar song title to the one I was looking for, and I left it playing whilst I carried on searching and I thought, this isn't bad! How exciting 😄
Obviously my insane fondness for songs by Taeyang and BigBang continues and Suzie's favourite songs by TXT are very welcome on my South Korean Playlist along with SF9, and a couple by BTS!
But this is my favourite song at the moment.. "Why Worry" by Set It Off.

At a loose end
The other week I was looking through odds & ends in my sewing box and I found this sewing kit. I bought it years ago and thought it was about time I actually got around to putting it together!

Wide Awake
Good morning, and an early one it has been. I have been awake most of the night so finally gave in and came down for a cup of tea. This is what happens sometimes, brain does not want to switch off. Nothing particularly worrying it, it's just AWAKE! I thought I would have slept better in view of the dining room gym session Dan put me through! I really must get fitter. 😅
So here are some more pics from our car journeys before lockdown.
Been too long
Phenominally happy to say Dan is finally home!! After nearly 14 weeks of us having to survive on Facetime and Messenger, our son is 'back in da house!' Feels quite surreal! - Until you trip over one of the many bags, or the dumbbells temporarily stored in the dining room! No, to be fair he has sorted most things away. I had prepared storage space for a lot of their Uni items, so it's all good 😁
So proud of him keeping himself and his girlfriend safe & healthy through lockdown, and can't believe he has completed his 2nd year at Uni already! And Suzie her 1st... how can time go so slow for some things, and so fast for others? 😮
He is still on what we call 'student time' but Suzie enjoys staying up 'till all hours with him, chatting and listening to music. And when Suzie does have an early night, Digsby & Chiko don't mind him playing on the xbox if it means a couple of extra treats handed through the cage bars!

Long Distance
Here are some pics from earlier in the year as promised, taken on our ferrying trips to and from Suzie's University. We are so lucky - under normal non-Covid circumstances, both offspring like to come home pretty much every fortnight. Dan is happy to drive himself, plus girlfriend, - however Suzie is not interested in driving just yet. And that's ok. Unfortunately though,we have come to realise that she does not travel at all well on the bus and the train is not an option. She has had to step off the bus early on more than one occcasion. Poor Suzie, she tries so hard to stay put and not bother us. The worst time was when she disembarked in some extremely remote location and I was franticly trying to sort a local-ish taxi to get her to some sort of civilisation. My blood pressure was off the scale! Hubby and I were pulling different ways - I wanted to make sure she got to a safer place to wait for us, and he wanted to just get in the car and drive to her. I had Suzie on the one phone and some taxi driver whom I didn't know from Adam, as they say, on the other. He was actually a very nice man and he got her to a cafe, where she waited for us. Signal with Suzie only dipped a couple of times so we were able to stay connected whilst Hubby was totally focussed on getting to her in the shortest time possible! As is usually the case - once she is off the bus, she feels fine!
So before lockdown, Hubby and I were driving to collect her, and taking her back. It is undeniably quite a long drive, but the scenery is beautiful. Whilst Hubby drove, I took pics - hence some have a certain blur about them! We were so looking forward to making the journeys in his new convertible car, (that sounds overly posh and posey 😄) but obviously that was not to be this summer - and the weather has been perfect for it! Not to worry at all, as long as we all keep safe and healthy.
I have many pics, I'll probably sort through some more tomorrow.

Lockdown Buddy
Before I share those earlier pics I mentioned, here is a very special someone my son sent me for my Birthday in Lockdown. Based on the statue by artist Margriet van Breevoort made for the Leiden University Medical Centre, he is known as The One Who Waits.
My Lockdown Buddy, "Wosh" waits with me for my son's safe and healthy return home. 💖
I love this little guy so much! 💓
