Pickle Pee

As promised, here are some pics of the racing pigeon who came to stay for almost a month last summer.  Dan & Suzie named him Pickle Pee Pump-a-Rum, apparently after the crow character in the Dark Souls video game?!  He was really tame and we all got very fond of him.  Well the neighbours didn't like him much I don't think - I would feed him and then he would go and poop on their window sills, so you can understand that they would be less than impressed.  I did apologise, and they said they were planning to renew the sills anyway.   We bought a bird-house thing for him to sleep in but he wasn't interested.  I tried to entice him to roost on our sills, to keep the mess our side, but it must have been more sheltered nextdoor for him!  We were sad when he supposedly flew home.  Nextdoor renewed their windows and sills before the end of the year...

I think he was getting fed up with me taking photos! 😂

Just as a side note.. a few Christmases ago, one of my gifts from Hubby was a Spell Book.  Not that I am into wicca in a big way or anything, but it was an interesting book.  In my sadness at the thought of not having our pigeon visitor to feed any more, I flicked through the book and found a spell that is said to return things that have been lost.  So, like the child I am, I wrote out the spell and put it under my pillow as the book instructed.  Well sadly Pickle Pee the racing pigeon didn't return - but the following months brought sooo many local pigeons that had never visited my garden before!!  We see a lot of collared doves but the pigeons had never bothered coming before.  So strange!!  I had to reduce the amount of bird feeding stations because I think Nextdoor had suffered enough!
