Weekend at last!
The hours have gone by, and Dan is home for the weekend! Well he is spending this evening at his girlfriend's, but that's ok. We spent some family telly & takeaway time together last night, and then the youngsters were chilling and chatting in the back dining room whilst Hubby and I watched a film. Just good to have them all in the house. I'd also had a chance to hear some of Dan's hilarious stories from Uni re his accommodation pals, well one pal in particular. He and Dan are quite different I think and it makes for an interesting friendship! Very thankful that he seems happy there. Plus he's coping well with the work assignments and has put himself forward for course rep, so seems to be involving himself more than we hoped really.
Today I took Suzie for her singing lesson whilst Hubby went to the gym. I had taken a book to read, but instead I sat there scrolling through the news - why do I do that? It just depresses me. Singing lesson having gone well, we returned home and Suzie had her breakfast. I had my smoothie! Then I mixed all the separate bags of bird food we bought last weekend, topped up the feeding stations and stored the rest in my shed. Watched the birds for a short while, they were particularly interested in the fresh supply of mealworms!
Hubby came back having completed his gym session. Then it was time to get Suzie to her Saturday drama group. She says she doesn't find it easy to talk to people in a group - that she feels awkward. Which is pretty much how I feel really. Much better at one-to-one conversations. But she's so lovely, I wish she'd see that people would be pleased to talk to her if she reached out a little. The point is, she puts herself through these feelings of awkwardness, because she loves being on the stage so much, which I think is just amazing.
We have a busy couple of weeks coming up because Suzie is in two musical productions, with multiple performances of each. So there will be a lot of ferrying to extra rehearsals and some late night pickups. All good fun and keeps us busy!
