Hello, back to school for the offspring.. there wasn't a lot of moaning to be fair. I was surfing through some blogs after my breakfast, when JJ messaged me to put the kettle on. So we had a good chat this morning. I think it was three mugs of tea. We have done better, but it was good enough! We will probably go swimming on Thursday. I have possibly double-booked myself again, as I think Barbara is expecting to go early Thursday with me aswell. (That happened the other week too) A second swim-suit would be really handy! And more towels. Hubby is going on about more towels, as he apparently nearly garotted himself on the fraying rag that I put out for him over the weekend! His usual one was in the wash, after using it at the pool.
So anyway after JJ left and I had investigated the scraping sound coming from the bathroom (nextdoor doing something, but it sounded as if he was in our house...must have an extra day off this week..) I had my non-diet inspired crackery lunch and got ready. I needed to collect Suzie from school as we had a Doctor's appointment .. to see what other cream we can add to her pretty pot! My one and only pair of decent jeans have dragged on the floor in the pool changing rooms once too often I feel, so they are due to be washed. Therefore it had to be a more formal look, with the black trousers and purply top. And my new purple coat. The coat that I bought whilst silently promising to lose a bit of weight before wearing. It's ok.. don't panic, it didn't rain so I didn't need to truss myself up by doing the zip up, thankgoodness. But I really must stop the crisps and chocolate. Sometime.
I got to the school a little later than planned, but still early, after scraping the bird poop off my windscreen (yes it's that time of year again people).
We were met with the phrase 'Do you mind, I have a medical student with me'. Our visit wasn't going to involve ruffling the blue paper towelling on the bed, so no we didn't mind. Are medical students taught body language? Or how to curb it? Did he yawn and slide around in his chair like that during every patient's discussion with the Doctor? Poor fellow. Long day obviously. Anyhoo, Suzie has some new cream, yay?! She was very calm with me despite me picking her up far too early from school, completely bypassing home where she could have had a bite to eat, and then waiting for over half an hour in the car before going in!
Once again today though, I was impressed with my parking.. I didn't abandon my car miles down the road from the surgery and pretend it wasn't mine. I didn't have to worry whether the Police had found fault with my choice of parking area, whilst trying to formulate my words to be concise when we got in to see the Doctor. No. I found my way into the actual car park. First time ever. Fantastic. Well nearly fantastic. It was actually the furniture warehouse carpark nextdoor that I found, but it's a lot better than I normally do!
Back home, Hubby arrived with Dan. It has become the norm for him to pick Dan up from his Law tutoring at a different school on a Tuesday. The contracted taxi driver was possibly very wise to lessen the gap in his open window on his final, routinely tardy, effort to collect our son. Hubby was already there!!
We were hoping to watch a Glee or two tonight, but Suzie has Art homework. Dan is more than a little disappointed, after having washed the pans at quite a pace (it was his turn), flown in and out of the shower and landed on the sofa in his robe, well in time for possibly two Glees. But Suzie has the homework to do! So he's disappeared into the backroom with his earphones. Now they are both singing..
Hubby is doing his daily brain-training app thing on his phone. I started doing it over New Year, but soon got bored with it. He apparently is in the 99th percentile. He used to do that Ingress game, but his attention has moved to this, and he'll do it like he does everything - to the best of his ability. I'm not that focussed. Or obsessive!!
Have a nice night/day.
Laters...
