WIMMC? ~ Item No: 1

~ What's In My Mother's Cabinet? ~
(Part of a fun series of posts detailing my cherrished items of 'tat' inside my Mother's cabinet!)

Item No: 1

Little Tin Van

Very fond of this little guy.  Despite Hubby's gentle mocking of my hoard of 'tat', he does acknowledge that sometimes a little thing like this can mean more to me than, for example,  an expensive piece of jewellery.  I have an overactive inbuilt 'cute-ometer' and if I consider something to be cute, I am immediately emotionally attached and it becomes imperative that I own it.  (Taeyang really needs to accept this and understand that he is, in fact, mine!)

Anyhoo, we had gone on a shopping trip, the four of us, last August.  Primarily we were looking for a new school bag for Suzie, but it was also very close to our wedding anniversary.  Birthdays, Christmas and Valentine occasions are marked with (.. more on Hubby's behalf I think I should say ...)  well thought out and planned gifts to treasure.  Our wedding anniversary for some reason, although very special indeed to both of us, has never been one of these occasions!  We tend to celebrate with a scrumptious meal cooked by Hubby, and purely an exchange of cards if we remember to sort card shopping out in time.  However, as we were on a shopping trip, and it was anniversary week, Hubby thought he might seek out a little gift for me.  We were in a huge market place, with many stalls.. some more expensive than others.  But I had spotted this little fellow.. so I pointed Hubby in the right direction and there you have it.  Little Tin Van was bought, popped in the shopping bag and brought home to reside in my Mother's cabinet.

I was curious to know where he came from so I did some googling and I found this site ..
Fair Trade Recycled Tin Vehicles  where there are similar items.

That was fun - hope you're looking forward to Item No: 2 ?!?
