What's meant to be will be

 

It is the birthday of a friend who moved away some years ago.  As usual my card will be late getting to her, but she won't mind.  I was in college with her.  Most weeks she would ask if I would like to join her and her friend on their Saturday night out, but I was not ready for too much socialising.  Following college, I began work in an office.  I became friendly with a girl who started there on the same day as me.  She too used to ask me to join her and her friend around the town on Saturday nights.  Eventually, I agreed.  How strange that her friend was the girl I was in college with.

It was around this time that a different friend of mine got in touch.  She invited me to attend one of her work do's.  I accepted initially, but backed out at the last minute.  Had I gone I would have met future Hubby there..

Some years later, a  new nightclub opened in the area.  My two friends and I (college & work) had our pictures taken for membership cards.  As future Hubby was aquainted with both friends, he said he would pick the cards up for everyone, whilst picking up his own.  Having not met me previously, he was rather taken with the photograph on my membership card, and the rest is history! 

So, if you are still following, it just goes to show that if you are meant to meet someone then it's going to happen somehow!
