Quick Update

Omg, I knew I was feeling too happy!!  Everything was going smoothly along to the weekend, until last night.. Dan was under the assumption that his next exam was not until after the half term break, when in fact it is this morning!! Huge amounts of cramming revision assisted by Hubby went on, after an already tiring day of exams.  Hubby and I are unimpressed with ourselves for not keeping a closer eye on exam dates.  Dan is pretty good at sorting things himself now, and we trust him to be doing the right thing at the right time.  However, our background backup needs to be sharpened a little I think!

Talking of backup, another calamity last night was the fact that Suzie had left her memory stick in the computer at school.  This contains all her computer study work since joining secondary school, together with work she has done towards the actual exam.  Exam work which needs to be finished and handed in today.  During the traumatic realisation that the stick was still in school, there were understandable tears and school bag contents were strewn over the dining room floor, in an attempt to see something that obviously wasn't there.  The plan to retrieve the stick as soon as possible on entry into school was discussed and eventually all was calm. Although younger than her brother, the same can be said of Suzie's approach to work and everything else.. she does the right thing at the right time.  Without fuss or need for persuasion, she has been staying later at school to ensure her work is completed.. so the thought of that work going missing made for a restless night.

Also last night came the phone call from my cousin to say that my Uncle is unwell.  He is an Uncle I am fond of as he reminds me so much of my Father.  He has the same mannerisms.  The same amusing wary suspicion that developed along with an obvious dislike of strangers, or come to think of it (family excluded) non-strangers!  Reasons behind my own unsociable traits perhaps becoming clear as I write this! Anyway, he is not well and sadly things are not looking good.
